Experiencing technical difficulties
Well hello!
Happy news! Some time has passed and a few paintings have come to fruition in the process. Sadly, my laptop has died so I have been unable to post any photos - but fret not! I will find a way. Brace yourself for an onslaught of blue and orange pigments of various configurations, big and small, far and wide. Seems to be the theme of late and I can't say I'm not pleased with the outcome...

Two a Year ain't bad... right?
| "Fell" 18" x 24" Oil on Canvas |
I am quite happy with this one- it came together easily and was fun to mess around with bright colors. I also like the thought that allllll those leaves came from one itty bitty tree. A reminder that we are often capable of much more than we think...

| "Rig & Orange Sky" 10" x 10" Oil on Board will take years to dry |
This was more of a struggle, which I feel comes across in the result which is slightly forced and a bit messy. I did it all with a palette knife- which I haven't done for a very long time - and used a massive amount of paint in the process. More like trowel-ing and less like painting- but still fun. The sky is my favorite part.
There is still twenty one days left of the year (happy birthday Daddy) with holidays included so who knows, maybe I'll be able to pull of three, or -gasp!- even four this year!

Umbrellas in the Halls of Luxury
I just posted this piece as finished, but a comparative look at the 'old vs. new' makes me want to revisit and polish... this one is more complex but quite chunky- the soft quietude of the early version appeals more to me... I've also started to make an effort to capitalize more often when I type. A new years resolution of sorts. Happy New Year :)
