Boo!

But now it means I have more time (and energy) to paint, and stain my hands with oil instead of wine. Yay!

So the newest edition in progress is from a photo in the park down from our house... its been fun so far- and much bigger format than what I have been working on- I have realized I do much better with a bigger brush... or maybe its just more satisfying :)

I think its roughly 3 x 4 feet...

And the following one is a further progression of a little dude made up of whatever has been left on my pallette, so has taken some time to finish (which its not yet, but close). Its a wee one... 8 x 12 inches or so? Its also a bit pink, as I took the photo with poor lighting... anyway, its coming along as a nice surprise:

Okay so here is the yet unfinished one of mum... it has progressed, but come to a screaming halt. I seem to get torn between obeying the photo details and just doing what looks right. More often than not, I should forget the photo and do whatever works, but... I don't. So I end up fussing about on details and forgetting to stand back and look at 'the big picture'- so to speak. Ahh well. its all learning right? I havent given up on this one- just needed to set it aside for a while and have a think about it.
